What are the big rocks in my life and how do I keep my focus on these, rather than get caught up in the pebbles and sand that could so easily fill up all my time? Relationships, happiness, authenticity, unconditional love – for myself and for my own (and all other) children! Living with compassion, changing the world, modeling my beliefs.

These are the things I want to live through my words, actions and everyday decisions!

It’s so easy to rush through my days – never stopping to feel or to reflect. Mornings aren’t my strong point to begin with, so I often end up rushing to make lunches, get the kids to eat some sort of breakfast, and hustle them off to school and daycare. Even then, I rush back home to clean up the kitchen, have a shower, get off to a meeting or to do some work…

And with all that rushing, those are the days that I often feel the least satisfaction with what I get done – or even feel like I didn’t get much done at all!!

Sometimes, I need a reminder to take even a moment of reflection in order to refocus myself on what’s important and my purpose in this world…

I’m reminded that sometimes, we need to ask ourselves if the rules really make sense in this particular situation.

That’s when the wisdom has to come into the equation!

The Real Crisis? We stopped being wise.

I’m grateful for the natural world that surrounds me every day – reminding me today that, although the world is complex, it is also so incredibly simple when I let it be.

Here, in one tiny, perfect dewdrop, I see my whole world.

Similarly, everything I need is inside of me – all the confidence, trust, love and passion.  It’s all there if I only stop to look…

There is a peace about this place – being outside, beside the ocean, wandering…

I love sharing this with my children. It seems like we all breathe a little deeper, a little easier, when we’re here. We smile more. We laugh.

We just wander quietly.
