Gifts

I almost walked right past…

Someone (I’m guessing it was a little person) took a moment to carefully arrange two leaves and a seashell on top of this post beside the walking path. I just happened to glance down and my eyes were captured by the brilliant red leaf.

How often do I miss the little gifts that my children offer me? They come to me saying “Mom - look!” and I say “Just a minute…” and end up just missing it completely!

Today, I’m reminded to stop more often, to listen more closely, and to take a moment to be grateful for the gifts that my children give me, if only I stop long enough to accept them.
